I know about snow rakes but only because my sister used to live in New England. It's hard to imagine living in a place that gets so much snow that you have to rake your roof. How nice that you have a lovely daughter to do the job for you. :) Hope you made it through safely. They called for sleet and freezing rain here this morning, but we only received a little rain. Spring is just around the corner. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Yes, this storm was pretty wicked though we lucked out as far as no power outages and some of the other problems that can make life miserable. The issue with this one was how fast it accumulated (3 in per hr) and the utter lack of visibility. Cars were high-centered on the snow! Plows struggled and city buses fishtailed. I was happy to stay in, clean my house, and blog. ; )

Wow. When a storm in the Midwest has cars abandoned and schools closed I know it must be a doozy. Hope you guys are safe and sound. IIt may snow one day or so a year in the Atlanta area, but not this year. I try not to have to travel for work in the winter since I am a babay about flying and wouldn't know how to drive if snow were on the ground. I had to go to Idaho a few eeks ago and was so glad my timing for no snowfall was good.
Thought of your previous post because we just upgraded from the "3" iphone to the "4" for 99 cents and spent an hour on Amazon last night getting new cases. I am treating my phone till the case arrives like a delicate flower.

I wish you could see my phone. We are very basic around here. Our "plan" expired ages ago and we finally got around to getting a couple of old-fashioned flip phones. They do almost nothing but send and receive calls.

My sister-in-law just got a new iPhone with her new plan. I noticed she has one of those protectors on it. Her phone is 'guaranteed' not to break if she drops it from the moon or something. They replace it if it does break.

I can picture you standing there in the produce aisle, and I know that sinking feeling when you see your phone spiraling downward. Ug! But that case has style! Just saying.

Thanks, Lisa. Just this week I discovered some nose print smudges quite low on a picture window in the family room. I sometimes thought he was going to crash through it when a squirrel would taunt him while devouring walnuts in the tree that overhangs our deck. Our kids have clamored for a pup, but puppyhood is best reserved for warm weather in this clime, especially if you are the one likely to walk the floorboards with it nestled in your arms in those early months. ; )

What a fun story. I love "how we met" stories. It even had a man in uniform... and a man in a helicopter (same man).

My family is populated with storytellers, too. I guess storytelling is the way history was originally passed down, and some of us still do it.

I do believe I see you on the top right side of that photo. I have to squint a little.

I see that you posted this in early October. I just started using a reader and I'm going to put you in there this very minute.

Thanks, Bella. Just slogging through the waves of grief for now. Of all our dogs, this one wore me out six ways to Sunday most of the time, but I loved him more ferociously than I knew.
